Ours was a group tour and we were to be grouped with a family from Wales, we met them at breakfast, a couple and their two daughters.
We started our safari by 8 in the morning, reached at the Amboseli National park gates and our driver/guide went to get our tickets.
We were surrounded by plenty of Masai women who wanted to sell local jewelry to us, at sky high prices, we politely said no to them.
As soon as we entered the park, we could see plenty of Zebras and wildebeests. Initially we were too excited to see them and then towards the end of the safari (at Masai Mara) we didnt bother to see them at all.
Now thats what you call original zebra crossing.
Had packed lunch (a sandwich, couple of fruits, fruit juice) from our camps which we had at Observation point, which is a hill in the middle of the national park.
After lunch we saw a loner elephant very close to our car, he was huge. Biggest of all we have seen during the day.
Animals we saw:
Birds we saw:
- Egyptian goose
- Secretary bird
- Crested Crane
- Some very colorful birds I am not aware of the names
Pictures will be uploaded to Picasa and will share the link here.
We reached back at our tented camp by 5 pm, took shower in almost cold water. Rested for sometime and had dinner.
During the night again sat next to our tents with Milan and grandpa, gulped a beer, exchanged email addresses as they were heading back to Nairobi next day.
Next morning we are off to Lake Naivasha, before reaching there we (My wife and I and family from Wales) spent three hours in police station, why? Covered that in next blog.
